Easter Sunday Festivities

posted by John Blanco @ 3:52 PM

Monday, during the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, the makeup of the families will be a little different than usual.

A group of about 100 gay couples and their children started standing in line for advanced tickets on Friday evening. Word is, they've got em. The goal of the ticket grab is to force the White House, and America, to see a gay couple and their family for what they are:

Normal Americans.

But, of course, the Bush Administration has been exposed. Since they can't cancel the Egg Roll, and they can't deny these families from participating, they went with Plan C -- reserve early morning tickets for friends of the party.

Yes, the Egg Roll begins at 8 AM. So, guess what tickets the first people on line were able to get? Yes -- tickets for NOON!

So, make your predictions now. We will see one of the following scenarios:

* Media coverage of families who received special invitation tickets -- and not REAL Americans.
* Media coverage of who these special invites are. (Tom Delay's sister, Bush's cousin's friend, etc.)
* Media coverage of the silencing of these missing families.

Personally, since we've known for weeks now about the plan, the media is hungry to show all these wonderful gay couples, playing with their kids, NOT protesting...and just having a good time. And if they don't get that, the story will be...WHY NOT?

I, for one, can't wait to see it. I'm sick of traditions that exclude and try to embrace the past. It's time to progress this one. Let America grow and let freedom ring.
