Exploring NCAR

Today, the Adventure Club (those loyal, anyway) went on two free tours in the Boulder area: NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research) and Celestial Seasonings.

Aside from being free, they were also both interesting tours, though no free samples at NCAR. :-) NCAR prodives an audio tour which includes many exhibits on atmospheric conditions such as Global Warming, how fog works, how light works, etc.

The picture of me is down in the basement where the supercomputers were. Mmmmmm, supercomputers...but I didn't get to see the Cray they promised. Well, at least, I couldn't identify it through the window, anyway. :-(

In between tours, the AC gang (Kevin, Aaron, Adri, Michele, me, Annie, and Colleen) ate our sack lunches -- and then scooted off to Celestial Seasonings of tea-making fame.
